MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho sophomore will play in the Stanford Regional of the NCAA Men's Golf Championship on May 13-15 in Stanford, California, the NCAA selection committee announced Wednesday.
Sykes earned the trip to the NCAA regional by winning the Big Sky Men's Golf Championship at The Wigwam Gold Course in Arizona, by three strokes with a three-round score of seven-under, 209.
He was the 2023 Big Sky Freshman of the Year but struggled in the fall of 2023 before finding his game as the spring progressed. The week before the Big Sky Championship, he tied for the win at the Battle for Idaho at the challenging Hillcrest Country Club with Boise State's Cole Rueck at six-over 219 to lead Idaho to the dual win over the Broncos.
