Vikings pick up fifth-year option on Christian Darrisaw’s contract

Last offseason, the Minnesota Vikings’ front office had a very easy decision to make when it came to picking up the fifth-year option on Justin Jefferson’s rookie contract. Today, they made a decision that was likely just as easy.

The team has announced that they have picked up the fifth-year option on the contract of left tackle Christian Darrisaw. If the team doesn’t extend him before then, Darrisaw will make approximately $16 million in 2025, but the team will likely work something out with him before that happens.

Darrisaw was the 23rd overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech, and has teamed with Brian O’Neill to give the Vikings one of the best pairs of bookend tackles in the National Football League.
